Weekly Bible Study #10

This week we are going to look at what the Bible says regarding healing. I have a series of scriptures from the New King James version. Starting with one we probably all know.

Isaiah 53:5
… But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

I wanted to share that verse first and foremost to establish a baseline here that we already have our healing through the lashings on Jesus’ back, we just have to claim it.

Luke 9:1
Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.

Taking things a step further we see that the disciples were given authority to heal

John 14:12
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

Now here we see Jesus tell us that we can do all the works that he does

Mark 11:23 NLT
I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

Here we are told about having faith, and if we believe in our heart and keep unwavering faith we can move a mountain. That mountain could be anything from a sickness to temptation and so on.

Matthew 18:19
19 “I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.

Finally we hear that if just two of us or more agree in prayer and faith, it shall be done

The previous lesson on taking authority over the devil applies here as well. Often times we have to kick the devil in the face to get him to stop lying to us.
